Finding products to sell on Amazon is super easy. You don’t even need a brand! You’ve probably heard of suppliers such as Alibaba and AliExpress. Here’s our simple 6 Step Guide on how to reach out to suppliers and ensure you are safely acquiring stock to sell on Amazon.
1. Create an Alibaba Account:
Visit the Alibaba website: www.alibaba.com
Click on "Join Free" or "Sign Up" to create an account.
Enter your email address, create a password, and follow the instructions to complete the registration.
2. Reach out to Suppliers and Request Quotes for your products.
Click on the items you're interested in to view supplier details.
Before you Start Order make sure you Click ‘Email’ or 'Contact supplier' to begin the discussion.

Inquire about product details, pricing, shipping, and any other relevant information.

3. Negotiate and Confirm Details:
Negotiate prices, order quantities, designs, and other details with the supplier.
Clarify payment methods, shipping options, delivery times etc. and once you're happy lock it in.
Simple Solution: Ensure at this stage you are clear on how the products will be packaged individually and how the box they will come in will look. For items to be received in an Amazon warehouse they must be packaged in a specific way. Most suppliers on Alibaba will be across this. Suppliers will also require barcodes for the products and labels for the boxes to be sent - advise them these will be sent soon after.
4. Place an Order:
Once you've confirmed all details, click on "Start Order" or a similar button to initiate the purchase process.
Review your order details carefully, including quantity, price, shipping, and payment method.
Proceed to checkout and follow the prompts to complete the order.
5. Payment:
Alibaba offers various payment options, including credit card, bank transfer, and secure payment platforms like Alipay.
Choose the most convenient and secure payment method for you and proceed with the payment.
Simple Solution: You can negotiate to pay 50% upfront, and 50% once stock is shipped or received.
6. Track Your Order:
After payment, you'll receive confirmation from the supplier.
Track your order through Alibaba's system. The supplier should provide a tracking number once the product is shipped.
Remember to verify the credibility of suppliers by checking their ratings, reviews, and transaction history before making a purchase.
